LITURGICAL
MUSIC
In
using the God-given gift of music, musicians work together to serve the
prayer life of the Saint Cecilia community. Music is one of the
vehicles through which the people of God pray. With our voices and
instruments, we not only praise God, but seek to bring God's love to others,
hoping to minister in helping others to enter into a deeper relationship
with the Almighty Father. While reverencing the old forms of sung
prayer, we are ever mindful of new music. Music nourishes the soul and
spirit, stimulates joy and contemplation, and often moves one beyond the
spoken word. It is a humbling vocation, a divine trust and a most holy
opportunity in liturgy.
