St. Cecilia Book Study
Reclaiming Vatican II
What It (Really) Said, What It Means, And How It Calls Us to Renew the Church
By Fr. Blake Britton
Come join Fr. Ventura & Fr. Tennant as we discover the true meaning of Vatican II and what it means for us today.
“Reclaiming Vatican II” by Fr. Blake Britton presses beyond the political narrative foisted upon the post-conciliar Church and contends that Vatican II was neither conservative nor liberal, but something much more beautiful and challenging.
For eight sessions in the St. Cecilia Room, we will discuss what we read about what the documents truly said and how Vatican II should foster a richer experience of faith.
Sessions will be held Sundays at 10:30 a.m. starting April 16th and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. starting April 19th.
Each week there will be 2 opportunities to attend the book study. You are not locked into a session, but for planning we are trying to get an idea of how many people typically will be at each session.
You are able to order a book through the church or on your own. If ordering through the Church, the cost will be $17.95 per book. Please pay through Faith Direct by using the one-time gift option (https://bit.ly/3fM5rQb) and in the memo line put "Reclaiming Vatican II book study", a check made out to "St. Cecilia", or in cash. Checks and cash may be dropped off at the parish office or put in an envelope labeled "Reclaiming Vatican II" and your name then placed in the collection backet at Mass
