Parish Festival

Chairperson Needed: There is an urgent need for a volunteer to chair the Texas Poker booth.  If you are interested, or even curious about the position, contact Festival Directors, Cody and Stephanie Wood (codywoodarts@gmail.com & stephwood77@yahoo.com).  The time commitment for this position is little, but the reward is great!

Electrician Needed: We are looking for a licensed electrician who can assist with the festival setup.  This person will assist with the necessary electrical setup alongside another electrician and be available to troubleshoot any electrical issues that may arise while the festival is operating.  If you would like to help with this task, please contact Stephanie Wood at stepwood77@yahoo.com

Cake Booth: The festival cake booth needs your donations!  The goal is to bake 400 cakes. To date, we have collected only 221 cake mixes, 209 pans, and 55 cans of frosting. We would greatly appreciate it if you could donate any cake mixes, cans of frosting, vegetable oil, non-stick cooking spray, 9”x13” aluminum pans with lids, and edible decorations!  You can also purchase items from our Amazon Wish List at https://a.co/4sjZcFQ and the items will be delivered directly to the church! Monetary donations and grocery gift cards will also be gratefully accepted so we can purchase other items not easily donated (i.e. eggs).  Money donations can be placed in the offertory baskets at Mass in an envelope marked ‘cake booth’.  There is a specially marked area in the Narthex for all other baking donations.

Cake baking will take place on Wednesday, August 6 in the parish kitchen. Cake decorating will take place on Thursday, August 7.  Adult volunteers should arrive at 9:00 a.m. & students should plan to arrive at 9:45 a.m. both days.  This is a great opportunity for teens to earn service hours for school!  If you have questions, please contact Carol Neitman at carolneitman@gmail.com.

The Major Awards Raffle: Prizes for this year will be 1st prize; $3,000 cash; 2nd prize: $700 cash; 3rd prize: $300 Cash.  Tickets are $2 each, or a book of 6 tickets for $10.  Tickets are available for pickup in the Narthex for parishioners to take home and sell to family, friends, co-workers, etc.  Make sure to have your completed ticket stubs and payment returned by this Friday, August 1st to take a chance at being one of our early bird winners of a $50 gift card!

Festival Volunteer Sign-ups: The volunteer sign-up sheets are available in the Narthex this weekend and August 2/3.  Stop by after Mass to select a location, day, and time slot.  Volunteer signups are also available online at https://bit.ly/StC-festival-25.  It takes hundreds of volunteers to make the festival a success, so please consider signing up for a time slot, or two, to help the parish!

Ride Wristband Presale Tickets: Sales will take place after all the Masses this weekend and August 2/3. The discounted presale price is $20 for one person, one day.  Monday, August 4th will be the final day to purchase wristbands at the discounted price.  Presale tickets can be purchased in the Narthex after Masses or in the Parish office. If purchased during the festival, the wristbands will be $25.

Quilt Raffle: The Quilt Group will be selling raffle tickets after all the Masses this weekend and August 2/3.  Tickets will also be available to purchase at the quilt booth during the festival.  Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10.  The winner will be drawn at the festival on August 9.

Set-Up Volunteers: We will need help setting up the week of the festival.  Tuesday and Wednesday are the evenings that we need the most help.  See below for details of what work is planned each evening. Anyone who has basic tools, such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc., is welcome to bring them to use as we get things assembled.  This is a great opportunity for teens to get service hours, and we would love their help! Contact festival directors Cody and Stephanie Wood at stephwood77@yahoo.com with any questions.
